Heat Shield Set for Brake Pads

• Brake pad heat shields (sometimes referred to as brake shims) are an excellent upgrade for high-performance braking systems used in racing, track events, and heavy-duty applications. These precisely engineered shims fit between the brake pad backing plate and the caliper pistons, providing an effective thermal barrier that greatly reduces heat transfer.
• These heat shields effectively reduce the heat transferred to the brake calipers, pistons, and hydraulic fluid. By minimizing heat soak, they play a vital role in avoiding brake fluid boiling, pedal fade, and unexpected loss of braking power -- issues that frequently arise during prolonged high-temperature situations on the track.
• By controlling caliper operating temperatures, pad shims help preserve vital brake components including caliper seals, dust boots, pistons, and brake fluid. This not only extends component life and reduces long-term maintenance costs, but also ensures consistent pedal feel and modulation during demanding driving sessions.
